I moderated a fireside chat with Thomson Reuters Director of Sales to discuss their new mobile app. Exploring how the reporting and breaking of news has changed in the digital landscape, it was a particularly interesting discussion in light of the breaking news stories we’ve seen in the past year.

UKIE Student Conference, September 2015

I spoke at UKIE’s Student Conference about my career as a freelancer. Explaining how I got into freelancing and my thoughts on what it is like to be a freelancer, I hope I helped the students with future career choices (though I probably didn’t).

Pocket Gamer Connects Helsinki, September 2015

I moderated the global games track and the mobile marketing tracks at Pocket Gamer Connects Helsinki. Hosting content across two days, I was lucky enough to introduce speakers from Space Ape, EA, Mygames, Newzoo and more.

Google Think App, March 2015

At Google’s Think App event in Dublin, I gave a talk about sustainability within the app economy. Arguing against simply following the biggest players in the market, this talk suggested that niches within the market exist and can support a developer.

Yodel Mobile Monday Afternoon Club, January 2015 – As part of London Mobile Games Week, I hosted Yodel Mobile’s “Zero to Hero” event. Featuring support from seven sponsors, I helped compere the show and round up the key points in a quick talk at the end of the event.

Pocket Gamer Connects London 2015 – I compered the morning of the Acquire, Engage, Monetise track, before hosting proceedings on the afternoon Best of British track featuring Peter Molyneux, Mike Bithell, Toby Moore and more.

Samsung Developer Conference 2014 – I hosted a panel with leading figures from Samsung, Immersion, TapJoy and DeNA about how to create games that make the most of the analytical aspect of mobile gaming as well as the creative.

Pocket Gamer Connects Helsinki 2014 – I gave a keynote speech about Nokia’s role in the Finnish mobile industry. I also moderated the Finnside track which entailed running five panels, conducting a fireside chat with Niklas Hed of Rovio and introducing speakers.

App Promotion Summit London 2014 – At the App Promotion Summit in London in 2014, I moderated a panel about the value of app store marketing which featured Stefan Bielau of Dynamo Partners, Tom LeClerq of Wooga, Anne Catherine Goulby of Swiftkey and Moritz Daan of Soundcloud.

App Promotion Summit Berlin 2014 – At APS Berlin, I hosted a panel with representatives from Hopster, Mobile Dev HQ and Wooga about how to make the most from App Store marketing.

Games Business Aalborg 2014 – I moderated the entirety of the Game Business conference in Aalborg in October 2014. Running three panels and introducing the keynote speaker, I helped to ensure the day ran on time and made sure conversation was stimulating throughout.

Mobile Games Forum 2014 – I joined the panel about interacting with the press and the media at the Mobile Games Forum in 2014, along with the likes of Stuart Dredge of the Guardian, Jeff Scott of Slide to Play and more.

Nine Worlds Geek Fest – As part of Nine Worlds Geek Fest, I joined their panel on indie game marketing with Laura Kate Dale of, Russ Clarke of Terra Tech and Natalie Griffith of Press Space.

Swiftkey Event 2014 – I gave a 25 minute talk at Swiftkey HQ about potential principals for designing wearable software that could be gleaned from the history of the wrist watch. You can read the text of the talk here.

AppLift Games Publisher Event 2014 – As part of a games publishing event at AppLift, I spoke for 20 minutes on the topic of branding and licensing and their value to mobile gaming.

I have also hosted a number of Mobile Mixers and Big Indie Pitches on behalf of Pocket Gamer in places including Berlin, Cologne, Helsinki, Brighton, London, San Francisco, Malmo, Krakow and more.
